I am a PhD student in mathematics at UVA advised by Julie Bergner graduating in Spring 2025, and I am currently seeking a postdoc position.
Previously, I studied at the University of Helsinki where I received my BSc.
I am broadly interested in higher category theory, and category theoretic aspects of algebraic topology and algebraic geometry.
The topic of my thesis falls in the intersection of abstract homotopy theory and higher category theory. In it, I study one of the better-behaved models of (∞,n)-categories, which are higher-dimensional categories up to homotopy. In the model known as Θn-spaces, higher categories are described as certain presheaves subject to Segal conditions encoding categorical structure as well as additional completeness conditions. I focus on understanding the completeness condition and construct fibrant replacement functor, which plays a role of a (co)bar construction in this setting, and use it to characterize weak equivalences in this model, generalizing work of Rezk in the 1-dimensional setting.
